WNBA 2023 Playoffs: The Final Showdown Begins
WNBA Regular Season Standings
The 2023 WNBA season has come to a close, and the final playoff standings have been set. The Las Vegas Aces finished the season as the top seed with a record of 26-10, followed by the Chicago Sky (22-14), Connecticut Sun (21-15), and Seattle Storm (20-16).
WNBA Playoff Format
In the new playoff format, which debuted last season, there are no more byes for the top teams. The top two seeds will receive a double-bye to the semifinals, while the third and fourth seeds will receive a single-bye to the second round.
First Round
The first round of the playoffs will begin on Tuesday, August 29th, with the fifth-seeded Dallas Wings facing the eighth-seeded New York Liberty. The sixth-seeded Phoenix Mercury will face the seventh-seeded Minnesota Lynx in the other first-round matchup.
Second Round
The winners of the first round will advance to the second round, where they will face the third and fourth seeds. The second round will begin on Friday, September 1st.
Semifinals
The winners of the second round will advance to the semifinals, where they will face the top two seeds. The semifinals will begin on Tuesday, September 5th.
WNBA Finals
The WNBA Finals will begin on Thursday, September 14th. The Finals will be a best-of-five series.
